This might be the cover of my comic about the military service. "Dogtag" translates "Hundmarke" in german.

I am still experimenting on the perfect coloring-style for the comic. I think this one works well.

Here is a color-test for my comic. I am planning to clean a few pages as a sample before I send a first draft to the publishers.

I just finished the monster-drawing. i wasn't too happy with my first dragon. the looked too busy.

Foodle Doodle

a bunch of friends and i are planning to create a blog about good restaurants and "doodles". you go to a restaurant of your liking. you doodle a sketch on a napkin and you put your review of the restaurant, food, atmosphere and people onto the blog. the sketches will be auctioned at a charity-event. we want to check out restaurants all over the world and have friends participate on this fun project.

i am working on an illustration for a children-book-project. a group of artists is being asked to sketch out a monster. everyone has a page to work with. here is my first sketch and my first stage of color...

Comic

here is a clean-up test for my comic. i have roughed out the first 70 pages and have another 20 pages to go before i will start with a clean-up version. not sure if i should use little color with grey-tones.

Another version

i reworked the image in illustrator. not necessarily a better version, but i like it.

Femme Fatale

I have been working a lot on my comic. I thought it would be nice to make a different illustration for my blog again.

I removed the outline around the girl and have the background blend into her head.

I'm pretty happy with this one. the background on the previous images was too dominant. i toned it down and i think it works much better.

The Comic

I am having two weeks off from my work at nickelodeon. I am taking the time to rough out a comic. It is about my mandatory military service in germany. Here are two sketches of the "rough-version".

My dad's 70th birthday poster

I have been working on a poster for my dad. His 70th birthday is coming up. He is a big fan of french action movies. I've inserted his picture into a poster from the film "Le Magnifique". It is a movie with Jean-Paul Belmondo. It is one of my favorite movies by the way. So please check it out when you come across a copy.

Vespa girl

Finally I've found some time to finish my "vespa-girl". Just have to add my signature and it's done.

Finished version

Added some shadow on the character and experimented with the background.

first clean-up stage

I started cleaning up the sketch. I still need to add some shadows on the character and the background needs some work. I might add some lights and some Gaussian blur.

Maybe the last one out of this series. I prefer this one. She looks a little more sophisticated and i like the simple design.

This is my next children-book project in the series of "Ella and the fairy-tales". This is an adaptation of the little red riding hood.

Comic rough

I am planing to finish a comic next year. It will be based on my experience during my obligatory military service in germany. I have slightly exaggerated the events, but most of the episodes have happened like this... here is a first rough-page.

Here is a design for my christmas-cards this year. Ella loves to hold the dog's leach when she rides in the stroller.
